Historic Visit of His Royal Highness Jean Raymond Takoukam to the United States

August 31, 2023, marked the beginning of a memorable event for the Bameka community and beyond: the 5th convention of Peuh Munka Ntom America, which ran until September 2, 2023, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The highlight of this gathering was undoubtedly the distinguished presence of His Royal Highness Jean Raymond  Takoukam, King of the Bameka.

Beyond the rich cultural and community exchanges of the convention, His Majesty's stay in the United States also provided an opportunity for immersion into American heritage. Accompanied by his delegation, His Royal Highness Jean Raymond Takoukam visited several emblematic sites, bearing witness to the history and grandeur of the United States.

Among the visited locations were the prestigious White House, a symbol of American power and democracy, as well as the Embassy of Cameroon in the United States, a crucial meeting point for the Cameroonian diaspora. Freedom Plaza was also on the agenda, offering a glimpse into the foundational ideals of the American nation.

These visits, rich in discoveries and encounters, strengthened the ties between the Bameka Kingdom and the Cameroonian community in America, while also providing a platform for intercultural exchange and understanding.
