‘’Happy New Year, Mbelong’’…
This phrase was repeated more than a hundred times on Monday, February 10, 2025, at
the Bameka Royal Palace.
Indeed, the Mu'nka community of Wouri in Douala undertook to express their wishes for
a successful new year to King Jean Raymond Takoukam of Bameka.
Under the leadership of Honorable MBA TAFEUH (Pastor Robert KAMTE), Head of the
Wouri Community, the Mu'nka sons and daughters of Douala were in Bameka on the eve
of February 11, to commune with the spiritual guide of the Bameka. This was a major
first for such a large-scale initiative.
Many of them were already present in Bameka and had taken part in the chair-seating
ceremony of Mrs. Tambo Melodine Florence on February 9, 2025.
The 2025 edition of the New Year ceremony at the Bameka Royal Palace was a
memorable moment, marking the beginning of a promising tradition for the Bameka
community of Wouri.
This event, imbued with emotion and respect for traditional institutions, underscores
not only the community members' unwavering commitment to their King, but above all
the importance the monarch places on human resources in the development of his
village.
Blessings orbi et urbi from HRH Jean Raymond Takoukam to his people.

First Edition of the Ceremony of Best Wishes Presentation to HRH Jean Raymond
Takoukam, by the Bameka Community in Wouri.
It was with immense joy and deep emotion that the Bameka community of Wouri
organized the first edition of the New Year's greetings ceremony to His Royal Highness
Jean Raymond Takoukam, King of Bameka.
In his speech filled with respect and devotion, Honorable 𝗠𝗕 𝗔 𝗧 𝗔 𝗛 𝗙 𝗘 𝗨 𝗛 , Head
of the Bameka Community in Wouri, extended, on behalf of the entire community, the
warmest and sincere wishes of health, happiness and prosperity for the year 2025 to
HRH Jean Raymond Takoukam. He wished to underline the unwavering attachment of
the community to His Royal Highness, as well as his gratitude for the dedication and
constant efforts of the King for the development and emergence of Bameka.
Honorable MBA TAH FEUH warmly congratulated all members of the community who
participated in this initiative, demonstrating their love and commitment to their roots.
He also made a heartfelt appeal to sister communities around the world, inviting them
to join this initiative and organize, together, a ceremony worthy of the Bameka and its
sons and daughters. With inspiring wisdom, Honorable MBA TAH FEUH concluded his
speech with an eloquent quote: "uprising starts at the bottom before reaching the top’’.
With these words, he recalled that every son and daughter of Bameka, wherever they
may be, must be keen to present their wishes to His Royal Highness, our King, before
any other thing.
This ceremony, rich in color and emotion, was enhanced by magnificent interludes. The
princesses of the Palace performed the song "Kouang by Takam 2" with grace and
talent, while the artist Foping Mek enthralled the Royal ceremonial ground with a lively
musical performance.
HRH Jean Raymond Takoukam expressed his deep gratitude to all the Bameka entities
of Wouri and to all those who participated in this initiative. He extended his warmest
wishes to all the sons and daughters of Bameka, as well as to everyone present, and
expressed the hope that this ceremony would become a tradition, a moment of
communion and sharing among the Bameka sons and daughters.
The Bameka communities of BAFOUSSAM (strongly represented) and Yaounde
participated in support of the brothers and sisters from the economic capital city of
Douala, as well as Mr. Aubin SOH, who came from Paris, France. The spiritual guide of
the Mu'nka expressed the wish that this event be held annually from now on between
two festivals.
In a show of generosity and conviviality, His Royal Highness and the Queen Mothers
offered a cocktail refreshment to all those present, thus prolonging this moment of joy
and sharing.
It was on this festive and moving note that the first edition of the presentation of New
Year's greetings to HRH Jean Raymond Takoukam, King of the Bameka, ended. An
event that will remain etched in our hearts and which, we hope, will mark the beginning
of a long and beautiful tradition.

« En observant les membres qui composaient la délégation du Wouri pendant la cérémonie des vœux on a pu remarquer un important rajeunissement des acteurs aux cotés de quelques barons expérimentés !!!
Aucune société moderne n'échappe à l'obligation de rajeunir et renouveler ses structures à certains moments... »
